A training coordinated by Anca Oroveanu, the owner of the Mihai Oroveanu Image Collection, took place during a three-month period, between June 1 and August 31, 2020. This activity was essential for starting the project, for assessing the content of the archive, in view of its presentation at Salonul de proiecte.

The archive is currently in the process of being relocated from a private space to a context which facilitates its public presentation.

A first rough estimation has concluded that the MO Collection amounts to tens of thousands of images, in various formats and supports: photographic prints, black and white as well as color negatives, glass plates, daguerreotypes, tintypes, photographic albums, slides, etc.

During the weekly meetings, Prof. Anca Oroveanu guided the project team (Alexandra Croitoru, Magda Radu, Ștefan Sava, Adriana Dumitran, Călina Bârzu, Cristina Cojcaru) in accomplishing the following tasks: an accurate configuration of categories (identifying the existing categories, creating new thematic categories, identifying the items belonging to each category, placing them in boxes according to their category, redistributing the images which were not included in any category); selecting and preparing the materials for their transport and public presentation at Salonul de proiecte.

As Anca Oroveanu’s involvement and expertise were essential in deepening the team’s knowledge of the archive and its thematic constellations, this training will impact the project in a significant way, throughout its entire duration.
